Three African Kings arrive for Toro Royal wedding

About three African traditional leaders from different kingdoms Friday arrived to attend the Tooro Royal Wedding slated for Saturday at St. John?s Cathedral in Fort Portal.

The monarchs led by King Munongo Mwenda and her wife Queen Ceila Mwenda of Bayeke Kingdom of Musiri in the Democratic Republic of Congo, King Tossoh? Bagidi of Savalou Kingdom in Benin, and King Andrew Tchikyaya of LWango Kingdom in Congo-Brazzaville, arrived yesterday morning aboard a Kenya Airways plane.

They where were received by Tooro Information Minister Arthur Namara and Entebbe and Kampala Tooro Kingdom coordinator Steven Nyakaana, among other kingdom dignitaries.

?We are happy to be part of the team witnessing the royal wedding,? King Mwenda said upon arrival at Entebbe Airport.

He said Tooro Queen Mother Best Kemigisa has always stood by them and where she fails, she makes sure representatives are sent, ?this has prompted us to come and stand with her in unity?.

By press time, one of the wives to?Swazi?King Mswati?III had arrived and more monarchs were expected to arrive.

Thousands of people had by yesterday started thronging the royal palace at Karuzika in Fort Portal to attend the royal wedding, where Princess Ruth Komuntale will exchange vows with her American fianc?, Christopher Thomas.
